Add a contract from Google Drive

Add a contract from Google Drive

Pick the signed document in Google Drive, and Legal fills in the title, the other party and the dates for you.

Before you start

An admin connects Google Workspace once, in  Settings → Integrations . See  Integrations . After that, any member of the workspace can add contracts.
Legal reads files on a shared drive. A file in someone's personal My Drive is saved as a link, but nothing is filled in.

Add a contract

Open  Legal → Contracts  and click Add contract.
In Signed document, search Drive by name, or paste a link to the file. PDFs work too.
Wait while Legal reads the document. It fills in Title , Counter party , Signed date , Expiry date and the matching Template , and sets Status to Signed when it finds a signing date. Filled fields are marked suggested . The template is how Legal tracks whether the contract is on its  latest version  .
Check the suggestions, add anything missing, and click Create Contract.
Legal only fills fields that are still empty, so anything you type first stays as you wrote it. If the file looks like a template rather than a signed contract, it says so. You can add it anyway.

Paste a folder link

Paste a link to a Drive folder, and Legal lists the documents inside it. Pick the one you want. Each contract is added on its own.

Choose the columns you see

Click Columns above a table to show or hide columns, and drag them into the order you like. Reset columns brings back the default.
