See your organization's strategy on one page, from its purpose down to the teams that carry it out.
Strategy is in beta. Today it shows one layer, your purpose. More layers are coming.
Turn Strategy on
Strategy sits in the App Library with a Beta badge. If your workspace never chose its apps, you already have it. Otherwise, click Enable on Strategy under Available apps (more in Choose your apps).
Your strategy is drawn as stacked layers, narrow at the top and wider towards the bottom:
Purpose: why your organization exists.
Teams, roles & projects: the base, where the work happens. Its Teams & Roles button takes you there.
Click the Purpose layer to open it in a side panel. The panel's copy-link button gives you a link that opens the page with the panel already open, so a colleague lands right on it.
The menu at the top reads Whole organization. Your teams are listed in it too, greyed out: team strategies come later.
Where your purpose comes from
Strategy shows the purpose of your top team in Teams & Roles: the one team that stands for your whole organization. You write it there, and Strategy reads it.
To write or change it:
On the Strategy page, click Write your purpose if there is none yet. If there is, open the Purpose layer and click Edit in Teams & Roles.
Teams & Roles opens on your top team. Click the pencil, change the purpose, and click Save.
If your team works with proposals, the pencil opens a menu where you can propose the change instead. See How proposals work.
When the Purpose layer stays empty
Strategy needs exactly one top team. If your workspace has no teams yet, or several teams at the top level, the Purpose layer stays empty and its side panel explains why. Once one team holds all the others, its purpose appears here.
