Contract templates and versions

See which contracts were made from the latest version of each template, and which ones need renewing.

Add a template

Open  Legal → Templates  and click Add template .
In Google Drive document , search Drive or paste a link to the template. Legal reads it and suggests the Name and Category .
Check Name and Category , and set the Version . It starts at 1.0 when you leave it empty.
Add a Local Name , Source , Jurisdictions or Description if they help, and click Create Template .
To add many at once, import them from the Drive Index tab.

How up to date your contracts are

Each template shows its Version, how many Contracts use it, and a Compliance bar: the share of those contracts on the current version. The bar is green when all of them are, and amber when some are behind. Above the table you see the totals, the percentage up to date, and how many contracts are outdated.
Click the arrow at the start of a row to list its contracts. Each one shows the version it was made from, with a Current or Outdated badge and a link to the file in Drive. Click a template's name to open its details.

When a template gets a new version

A contract linked to a template takes the template's version at that moment. When the template moves to a new version, contracts on an older one turn Outdated, so you can see which agreements to renew.

Link and tidy up

In the Contracts column, two small buttons help keep the list clean:
  • Assign contracts links contracts that have no template yet.
  • Merge other templates into this one moves the contracts of duplicate templates into this one and archives the duplicates.
When you  add a contract from Google Drive , Legal picks the matching template for you.
